How We Work & Our Pricing Models
At Kalaria Law, great legal representation starts with transparency, trust, and predictability. Navigating a legal matter shouldn't feel like a black box, so we want you to know exactly what to expect from your very first conversation with us, including how we structure our services and bill for our time.
Below is a step-by-step look at what working with Kalaria Law looks like, along with our upfront pricing models.
Our Process: 4 Steps to Getting Started
Step 1: Initial Consultation & Scope Definition
Every engagement starts with a free, no-obligation consultation. We'll talk through your goals, your immediate legal needs, and your longer-term objectives.
From there, we work together to define the scope of the engagement, so you know exactly what work is needed, and what isn't, before you make any commitment.
Every client and every project is different. To make sure you get the right level of support at a price that fits your business, we offer three pricing structures. We'll help you evaluate which model makes the most sense for your situation during your initial consultation.
Step 2: Choosing the Right Pricing Model
Hourly
$500 per hour
Best for: Complex matters, open-ended advisory work, or fluid situations where the scope can't be fully defined in advance.
How it works: You're billed in standard increments for time actually spent on your matter, with detailed invoices so you always know where your fees are going.
Flat Fee
Customized per Scope
Best for: Well-defined projects with a clear scope, such as contract drafting and review, entity formations, or discrete transactions.
How it works: Based on the agreed scope, we quote a fixed fee upfront. You'll know the cost before work begins, and the fee won't change unless the scope of the project does.
Monthly Subscription
Customized per Scope
Best for: Growing businesses that want the ongoing support of an “outside general counsel” for day-to-day-legal advice, including recurring contract review and governance matters.
How it works: A subscription gives you predictable monthly budgeting and ongoing access to your legal team without tracking hours for every call or email.
Step 3: Onboarding
Once we've agreed on scope and pricing, getting started is fast and paperless:
Engagement Letter. You'll receive an electronic engagement letter outlining our agreed scope, terms, and billing model, ready for e-signature.
Online Payment. Pay your retainer or fee securely through our online payment portal by credit card or e-check.
No printing, scanning, or waiting on paper checks.
Step 4: We Get to Work
As soon as the engagement letter is signed and payment is processed, we begin.
You'll have a direct line to your legal team, clear milestones, and proactive updates along the way, so you can stay focused on running your business while we handle the legal work.
